Training for Persons Involved with Toxic Chemicals  

 Online or In-person Sessions

Training dates will be scheduled based on the number of requests received and the level of interest expressed by individuals or companies.

Training can be conducted through several flexible options: 

1) Virtually via Zoom

2) At the PTCCB Office, NAREI Compound, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara

3) At company location, provided that there are 15 or more persons to be trained.

The Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Control Board (PTCCB), is responsible for the sound management of toxic chemicals in Guyana to protect human health and the environment. As part of this responsibility, the Board offers this training program, designed to enhance awareness and capacity in the safe management of toxic chemicals.  

Participants are introduced to the legal requirements, potential risks and best practices for handling toxic substances across sectors such as agriculture, industry, mining, manufacturing, and commerce. The training provides practical knowledge aligned with the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Control Act 2000 and the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Regulations 2004, helping stakeholders to comply with national laws and international safety standards.

  • Importers, distributors, and suppliers of toxic chemicals
  • Agricultural, industrial, and commercial workers
  • Storage and warehouse operators
  • Anyone responsible for handling toxic chemicals in the workplace

  • Proper disposal of toxic chemicals and their containers.
